How do we test waterproofing?

Our boots undergo an intensive test in the lab to guarantee their waterproofing properties. They are immersed in water and are folded up in water up to a certain level, replicating real-life hiking conditions. This test ensures that your feet stay dry, even in wet or rainy conditions.

How often and how intensely can you hike?

Three levels of use: Occasional: 10 hikes per year, 3–4 hours, <10 km, 700 m elevation gain. Regular: 20 hikes per year, 4–6 hours, 10–20 km, 700–1,200 m elevation gain. Intensive: >20 hikes per year, >6 hours, >20 km, up to 2,000 m elevation gain. The MH500 boots are suitable for regular use.

How can you avoid blisters?

To prevent blisters, choose well-fitting shoes, wear suitable socks, lace your boots up properly and adjust the laces before going uphill or downhill. Then start with short walks to break in your new pair.

How to choose the right socks

For a comfortable hike, choose Merino wool or synthetic socks for better breathability and to prevent blisters. Choose a thickness that suits the season and terrain, and make sure your shoes fit snugly over the top, without any creases.

Do you need to replace your insoles?
