At Decathlon, we don't just consider the intrinsic quality of the component (in this instance, a fabric with a 20,000 Schmerbers rating) but we also test the waterproof qualities of the finished product in an environmental chamber reproducing different precipitation levels. This hat will protect you from a 12 cm rain shower for 2 hours, or 60 L of water per hour and per square metre:quite a downpour!
The ripstop fabric is a mesh-type fabric. The warp and weft design helps ensure durability and prevent potential tears.

This is a great item but I have no idea Why it was posted by decathlon- folded so it was unwearable- bending the rim so it was distorted. On trying to return - no paperwork zero help from staff who cannot read and actually argued with me !? The customer! About how great they where afte damaging the item making issue more confusing not refunding postage ect ect - a manger then told me my feedback was helpful !!! Wow - zero help or service them no actual apology and no item - I can’t use decathlon as they have trading issues across the board no thanks
So far I've used this hat to keep the rain off and it's done the job really well. Hopefully I'll get to try it in the sunshine soon! The hat is slightly large for me but with the adjustment at the back and the chin strap, it stays securely on my head even in the wind. Really good value and I'm very happy with it. Delivery was very fast and although there was a slight problem with the delivery, Decathlon sorted this out immediately once I'd given feedback. Excellent customer service from Decathlon.
I really like this hat. I can go kayaking during very sunny days
