Protection from the sand
This boot features a built-in gaiter which prevents sand from getting inside. For better protection against sand, we recommend pairing this boot with the Desert 900 trousers.
Depending on the terrain, what type of boot would you recommend?
We designed this boot for sandy deserts (e.g. the erg in the Sahara). Indeed, the sole is very flexible, allowing your foot to roll through properly, which is ideal for walking on sand dunes. If you are trekking on hard rocky ground (for example the Erg of the Sahara), then we would recommend mountain trekking boots instead.
Why is it more breathable?
In the desert, there is no need for waterproof boots! However, most boots are waterproof thanks to a membrane that keeps the water out. Given that the desert boot doesn't have a membrane, it is naturally more breathable.
How to choose the size of your desert boot
In the desert, the feet tend to swell. So, do not hesitate to take one size up from your usual size to ensure a comfortable trek.

Ordered size 5 but boots felt shorter & narrower than a 4. Boots were inexpensive but looked cheap. Tried one on then returned.
Hele vakantie op gelopen in twee woestijnen maar ook in de steden en waar dan ook. Lopen heerlijk, heel sterk qua materiaal en zien er ook nu nog als nieuw uit. Zijn thans uit het assortiment maar hoop dat ze terugkomen want vind ze onmisbaar.
Niestety mimo fajnego wyglądu, jedna jedyna rzecz przekreśla dla mnie te buty. Co mi z takiego detalu że piasek się nie sypie do buta (jak do każdego lepszego z wyższą opięta cholewką więc to taka naciągana reklama) A przekreśla tego buta oddychalność/przewiewność, a raczej jej brak. Stare wypusty takich butów były z płótna naturalnego (bawełna czy jucht) a te to plastik dodatkowo "podgumowany". W efekcie oddychalność stopy jak w kaloszach czyli ZEROWA. Jakbym miał worki foliowe ubrane na stopy. Przeznaczenie na pustynie, w gorący klimat a tu już przy 20 stopniach stopa się zapaca, skarpetka mokra, o samoczynnym wyschnięciu nie ma co marzyć, aż pieką stopy bo się zaparzają. Choć to zakrawa na ironie to testowałem nawet w grubszych skarpetach wełnianych z merynosa licząc że coś pomogą. Nic to nie dało. Dla mnie DRAMAT. Wstyd w biurze ściągać buty żeby dać odetchnąć stopom od tej tortury. Oto przykład jak z fajnego designu, wyborem sztucznego materiału do produkcji przekreśla się wszystko. Nie polecam! Gdyby nie to że mają ślady użycia to bym zwrócił je w cholere...
