Our designers developed this padded jacket for your mountain outings in good weather.
This padded jacket, when worn as a 3rd layer, has a temperature rating of 0°C that was certified during a standardised test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5km/h wind. In our heat comparison tool, this is equivalent to 1 star. We have also tested this model in static mode. Its temperature rating is +10°C in this case.
We use a 100% polyester wadding: 100g/sqm in the body section and 60g/sqm in the sleeves.
The material of the quilted jacket is water repellent. This means that drops of water roll off the fabric preventing them from soaking into the padded jacket as quickly, giving you time to find some shelter. But the padded jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the padded jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this padded jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
Synthetic filling is a useful alternative to feathers: - It has good thermal insulation capacity, even when wet - It provides greater breathability and may be recommended in the case of dynamic activity (feather down is recommended for static activity) - Easy care: machine wash at 30°C and tumble dry
