Very reactive cushioning

For the foam, we partnered up with Arkema, a leading French chemicals company in the running industry. This alliance gave rise to VFOAM in Pebax ®, 20% more dynamic than conventional shoes. The Pebax® Arkema foam combined with the sole geometry provide very reactive cushioning.

Sole geometry with maximum energy

The doughnut-inspired heel geometry optimises material deformation for maximum energy return at every stride. The sole leverages all the shoe's qualities:the forefoot geometry maximises Pebax® foam's reactive expression and the heel geometry has an intuitive shape at the only point where cushioning is required.

Lightweight

The research and development studies have shown that a lighter product improves running performance by reducing energy consumption. To design the KD900, there was no compromise in terms of comfort and robustness and the decision was taken to use lighter components and an optimised sole design. As a result, 218 g in size 8.

Excellent road-holding ability on wet roads and bends

Our sole is designed like a car tyre for running performance without losing control in wet conditions. The sole geometry combined with a the rubber component give the KIPRUN KD900 excellent grip on wet terrain and turns, even at top speed.

Amazing running shoes

Seriously light and springy, very comfy to wear over long distances

Brilliant for shorter runs up to 10k

Got these a few months ago as a counter to my current Asics stability running shoes, these are so much lighter with so much more bounce I immediately started setting PBs in 5K Parkruns, culminating in finally cracking the 20 min barrier. These alone account for 30/45 secs off my 5K time. Also: Excellent grip in wet or dry conditions. I have marked them down for cushioning only because they are not intended to be a cushioned running shoe, these are designed for short / fast runs, which for me they excel at.

First run quick review

Just been out for my first run in these. I really like the upper although the toe box could do with a little more height. The heel counter is fantastic and I encountered no irritation or heel lift despite there being no hard heel cup. As someone with a troublesome achilles and a Haglund's deformity this is important. The outsole has fantastic wet weather grip and looks like it will be hard wearing. There is rubber on parts of the outsole that will never contact the road surface. The rubber coverage could be reduced significantly to reduce weight further of what is already a light shoe. Midsole..... Too firm. Yes it may soften with time but this is too much. The heel feels ok but the forefoot is super firm and gives you nothing back. A lower density foam formulation would feel so much better and would give class leading weight to the shoe. I would happily accept a shorter midsole lifespan for a softer, more enjoyable (and likely more efficient) lower density foam. The shoe is reasonable but could be wonderful with a few changes.
