For many years, researchers from around the world have been studying shoe cushioning without knowing whether there was actually a link between shoes' mechanical cushioning properties, and injuries. In 2018, Decathlon decided to conduct a study with 848 participants over 27,761 running sessions, in partnership with the LIH (Luxembourg Institute of Health).
To confirm the link between cushioning and injuries. In this study, two cushioning conditions have been tested: a flexible shoe (61 N/mm) against a stiff shoe (95 N/mm). The result of this study speaks for itself: 25% fewer runners injured with the flexible shoe. It is on the basis of this study that the flexible cushioning of the FLOW series was created, focusing on the preference index of soft cushioning.
'Drop' is the difference between the height of the back (heel) and front (forefoot) of the shoe. Unlike the 10-millimetre drop offered by running brands, KALENJI decided to offer a 4-millimetre drop on its Jogflow 500.1.The goal? To encourage runners to strike the ground using the forefoot to help them adopt a more natural stride and reduce the risk of injury.

I heel strike and find most trainers give me foot pain in time unless I insert 3rd party insoles to give them more life. Thus far these have provided me with good cushioning though the sole now appears to show signs of coming loose (I will contact Decathlon of that happens as I have not had them all that long or worn them enough for that to happen). They are not suited to wet weather and the sole would be slippy then anyway. They are nice for general dry weather trainers though and a bit of running. Very good value, too.
These running shoes started off well, but after only a month running 20 miles a week on average, they have become noticeably weaker around the heel, and are losing their fit after only 160km As a result they are starting to feel a bit clumsy, and I’m not confident that they are going to last anywhere near as long as my other Salomon ones which wore out after 800km. I wouldn’t recommend this product if you are a regular runner.
Can’t believe the quality for the price, so comfortable and look great. Great for racing in, no good for rough terrain.
