      Care tips

Dishwasher safe product (lid + body). Warning, in this case do not lose the top seal. Dry with the top off. The seal and handle can be removed for a complete wash and dry.

Advice for maximising the performance of your isothermal box.

Fill your food box with hot water for 5 minutes then replace the water with your hot food. Close the box. The fuller the box, the more effectively it keeps its contents hot or cold. This box has a smaller volume and won\'t stay warm as long as a larger, full box. Go for the 0.8 L model if you want the most isothermal product.

      Functions

This simple product is made up of 4 components (stainless steel tank, separate polypropylene lid, silicon seal and handle) that can be separated if need be. We opted for a fairly wide 8 cm diameter opening to make washing and filling the box easier. The soft handle makes it easy to carry without taking up space once in your bag. Do not microwave.

      First use

Rinse the entire product 3 times with clear water before using for the first time.

      Weight and dimensions

      Volume: 0.5 litre Dimensions : Ø 11 cm x 10 cm Weight: 280 grams (Body 214 grams and lid 66 grams) Opening: Ø 8 cm Available in 0.5 L and 0.8 L.

      Product design: our expertise

Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers, etc) and outdoor sports enthusiasts. A great asset for designing your mountain walking products and providing you with all our expertise.

How does the isothermal element work?

We use a double stainless wall with a vacuum between to block thermal exchanges by conduction or convection. To block exchanges by thermal radiation, a fine layer of copper covers the outside of the inner wall. The top is insulated thanks to an internal insert made from expanded polystyrene.

      Materials and regulations

Our products and materials meet the food contact standards in force. They do not contain Bisphenol A (BPA) in accordance with the French regulations in force. We have chosen to use 18/8 (304) stainless steel for the tank, recognised for its food safety and a heat and shock resistant polypropylene for the top. The seal and handle are made from silicon, an extremely durable material.

      Top tips...

As well as keeping food warm, you can also keep it chilled on your hikes. There’s nothing better than a spoon of ice cream halfway through your walk to motivate the kids (and the grown-ups!). You can also use your box as a yoghurt maker: Bring the milk to the boil, leave it to cool down to around 43°C (warm but doesn’t burn), then pour the milk into the box with a spoon of yoghurt. Close the box and leave overnight (between 6 and 10 hours).
