Men's Ultra-light Rapid Hiking Boots FH900 - Grey Yellow

I was looking for a shoe for summer long-distance hiking off-trail on rough terrain. These have proven to be perfect, the gaiter keeps scree, heather and vegetation debris out without being too warm or the hassles of attachable gaiters (breaking cords, velcro becoming detached) and the quick laces don't become snagged and undone like normal ones. I'd have a very minor critique of the lace pouch which isn't quite as good as others (would prefer it to be more stretchy) I've also used them for gorge and snow tunnel exploration where they have drained quickly once back out of the water.

Just used a pair of these shoes for a charity walk (40 miles in a weekend) in the heatwave Aug 2022. Excellent summer walking shoe - lightweight and comfortable, sole is firm and grippy and I particularly like the knitted top which stopped things getting inside the shoe along with the easy on/off design and the snug fit with the lacing system. For me a really good purchase and would highly recommend

These shoes look good, feel nice at first. after several days of wearing them it's all down hill... Working as a postie I needed ligth comfortable shoes and was advised these would be great. I ordered two pairs thinking I'd need to rotate for hygiene reasons. I returned one of them as the left shoes had a very rough plastic feeling patch just at my tendon level. the others were fine to start with, I think I got the all tightening thing wrong so gave it several shift with different settings. The best was very loose at the bottom and tight between the second and first rings. I wear them 4 to 9 hours a day and 5 days a week. after 6 days of wearing them the left shoe started to feel the same as the first pair I returned, really starting to feel like it was digging in the tendon... the weird thing is that it was both time on the left shoe, and that the second one did it after days of use. I tried double socks, thin, thin and thick, and two thick socks. Only time it doesn't hurt is......when I sit... They tend to slightly damage my big toes too, but seeing the issue with the inside rear of the shoe, that is nothing, only feels like a stingy patch. The grip is inexistent on patches that have a bit of organic residue when wet so I guess they'd be best for tracks with no rocks to climb over especially if said rocks are under trees. I never got to the bottom of the waterproof of the shoes as it is mentioned in the taking care bit of the description but not sure if they actually are supposed to be. Had them on in two torrential rain days and although they didn't feel wet at first, within the hour it felt like patches of wet developed, I guess it was to be expected. Overall I feel I have wasted £80...I'll be looking for waterproof trainers like these 8488626 which are less than a quarter of the price and have been more comfortable. but then even if I have to change them every four months, although not good for the planet, it'll be cheaper... First major deception from decathlon here...hopefully the last as I have been a bog fan of teh variety of items available, maybe a bad pick, maybe I don't fit their item, or maybe, just maybe these shoes are not what they claim to be Not sure I can even return these now as who wants second hand sweaty boots?...
